Day 4 Wednesday 7.8

ที่ตีพิมพ์: 07.08.2019

Now half of the vacation is almost over. Everyone in the house really likes it here. The people are really friendly and the nature is excellent. I almost feel like I'm in Sweden.

But now let's talk about today:

I'll skip the obligatory breakfast. Today's plan included a 2-hour seal safari. Departure time for the boat is 6:00 PM.

Since it was only 10:00 AM, we had to decide what to do. The kids ordered us to go to the playground at the ferry terminal in Hvalpsund. That's where our first ferry ride took place.

But before that, I had the idea to ask the next farm if my boys could see baby cows. Of course, the three of them were excited about the idea.

So I asked the nice young farmer, and with a very friendly 'Come in', he showed us the large livestock farm. He told me that a cow was about to give birth. Our eyes lit up because it's not every day that you get to see something like that, the beginning of a new life. When we entered the stable of the young mothers, a hoof was just coming out. One of the 5 of us found it 'gross' and a little scared, so he ran out to the baby cow barn. The rest of us watched the exciting process with anticipation. Every centimeter was celebrated with joyful cheering. After 10 minutes, the cow gave birth to a sweet brown calf. What a privilege to witness such a moment.

Before getting to the car, the children's cow area attracted me. Young animals are cute.

Then all 5 of us got into the car. So, off to the playground. 1.5 hours, then we'll grab a bite to eat and come back.

While we were cooking and eating, the world outside was falling apart. Heavy rain, pitch-black sky, and a thunderstorm. 20% of my family briefly doubted whether this boat trip was feasible.

But not even the heaviest downpour would stop me. Besides, I knew that the boys would make it sunny again with their sun song, just like yesterday. And indeed, it stayed dry throughout the entire ferry ride. Unfortunately, we cannot provide pictures of the seals, as the distance was too great for photography due to legal and animal protection reasons. Nevertheless, it was a great experience. The pictures of the water speak for themselves. I felt a mixture of homesickness and wanderlust. Especially when I was allowed onto the bridge with the boys. We quickly had a small technical discussion about depth, course, speed, wind, and technology. I also got to study the nautical chart together with them. A very nice captain.

After 2 hours, we had to leave the boat again.

Everyone was tired and a little hungry. A rabbit sandwich on the go helped a lot. Back at the house, the three young pirates got a delicious dessert before walking the plank into bed.

The evening was spent in the sauna, playing games, and relaxing.

Tired and happy, this day ended around 11:30 PM.

So, see you tomorrow. Then we'll go on a trip to Aalborg.
