Today we are going on the last stage with the two Austrians... to Llanes it was a short stage. Nevertheless, it was somehow challenging... it stretched on and on.
After getting lost once, we suddenly heard behind us “the route is being recalculated”... some people are actually walking here with a navigational system... so we looked around and quickly found the possible right way... but the navigation device was faster... :) we continued through the field, including a little electric shock from the electric fence and nettles.
There they were again, those bufones... but once again, we were not lucky and could only imagine the natural spectacle through pictures. The sound was like there was a dragon sleeping underneath and breathing in and out deeply... at least that's how I imagine it.
We continued on our way towards Llanes and the view of the coast was fantastic again... at that time, I didn't know yet that I would change my plan a bit today...
There was once again a beautiful contrast of mountains and ocean, but the eucalyptus forest was also very beautiful. Whoever has a cough, etc. should go hiking here... shortly before Llanes, there was an elevated viewpoint. The view was simply magnificent, thank you for allowing me to see it.
On the last kilometers, I kept thinking more and more about the crazy idea I had in between to arrive in Santiago de Compostela on my birthday, July 29th... that would be something really special... unfortunately, there is not enough time for that... so I decided to take the bus in Llanes and continue walking from Gijon... time-wise, it would work...
The couple from Austria and I said goodbye, their journey was over. Although they didn't want to stop and wanted to keep going, I still had big motivation problems, and the negative experiences are bothering me and I miss the pilgrim feeling from 2015.
Once again, thank you for the nice company and taking many photos...
Arriving in Gijon, I looked for accommodation. But first, I walked around the city, it is a very beautiful small city with two great city beaches...
I found a student accommodation as my place to stay. However, I quickly changed the first room. The mold from the bathroom smelled in the whole room... it was unfriendly to change rooms. The second room was no better, it started to smell like mold again after a while. After a long search, I found it directly under the mattress... that was it, I tried to get another new room. But no chance. So I packed my things and left...
I'm going to the beach now... the night should be dry and warm...
