Distances are definitely different here than in Germany. Everything always looks so close on the map, but if you look more closely or have a route shown, then suddenly the short stretch is no longer so close.
I noticed this before the trip: my flight from Adelaide leaves early at 6 a.m., which isn't even my time! Since I have to change trains in Melbourne, I thought that maybe I could take the train to Melbourne so that I don't have to get up so early... On the map the distance doesn't look that big, between these two cities - well , but the reality is that it takes about 12 hours by train 😳.
I actually want to do a lot of things on foot here, even though there are hardly any footpaths here. We should go to the nearest supermarket. Looked at the map "Oh, that's really close. I'll just walk there quickly", after looking at the suggested route, I decided to take the car instead. The nearest supermarket that looked so close was 10 km away 🤣. So it's worth asking the route planner more often about the kilometer display 😉.
