Yesterday I didn't drive too far because I had to visit Bordeaux of course. Since the campsite is 12 km outside, I first did a Komoot bike tour in the surrounding area, which is not really worth recommending because the landscape away from the coast is not so beautiful at this time of year. The impressive things were only the many vineyards and le lac vert, which is beautiful but so polluted that one unfortunately has to resist the urge to jump in.
Today, Komoot guided me through Bordeaux and this city also delights me. It is of course much larger and more sophisticated than La Rochelle. I was particularly impressed by the traffic concept, because bicycles here have their own track or even a whole lane everywhere. There is also a well-developed modern tram network, so cars actually have to give way everywhere.
The advantage of visiting a city on a Sunday is also that you can observe the French savoir-vivre throughout the whole city: markets, cafes, brasseries, restaurants and parks are full of gourmets, while the streets and shops are deserted. A stroll through the city is a pleasure even in temperatures over 30 degrees.
