After the exhausting drive through the snow, we arrived quite late at the campsite in Erickson. The office was already closed, but someone answered right away when we called the phone number posted outside, and we were greeted very kindly despite the late hour and immediately assigned a spot. Thankfully, it was an easy spot to park in; it would have been a bit difficult in the dark otherwise. After a shower (Kerstin and I showered one after the other because there was a big spider in the second shower >,<) and a quick dinner, we went straight to bed. It had been a very tiring day.
None of us had ever done a tour with a motorhome before, so when we were planning, we thought that around 300 km would be doable. But in these first few days, we quickly realized that this goal was clearly too ambitious. While the journey is the destination on a tour like this, driving is always exhausting, and being on the road all day eventually becomes more stressful than relaxing. With a motorhome, you just can't make as much progress, especially when you want to see things and therefore trundle along at 80 km/h. That's why we adjusted our plans for the next few days a bit so that we only planned for around 150 km most days, which made for a much more relaxed vacation.
