Continue northwards

We left the island of Don Det yesterday, which is located in the far south of Laos, and moved about 150 km further north. Our location for the next three nights is Pakxe. It is a city on the Mekong River with a population of 78,000, but it is not a must-see destination. However, it is conveniently located for trips to the Bolaven Plateau and the Wat Phou Champasak temple.

Today, we visited the Bolaven Plateau as part of an organized day tour. It was essentially a waterfall tour and it was truly impressive.

Bolaven is also known for its coffee plantations, which were started by the French over 100 years ago. Therefore, a visit to a small coffee plantation was also included in the program.

And now we are tired and satisfied in the hotel. Michael is watching football and munching on chips...
All is well with us!
