HAPPY NEW YEAR

Sydney is in a state of emergency on this day! It's unbelievable what's happening here. Everything was set up for this event in the days leading up to it. Roadblocks were set up, everything was decorated, and everyone you met wished you a 'Happy new Year' from the bottom of their heart!

People were already taking their seats in the best spots in the early morning, so that they would have the perfect view of the Harbour Bridge and the Opera House at midnight. By noon, the squares, parks, and streets were really crowded. Even the harbor was teeming with ships trying to secure the best spots.

Imagine it like a multi-day festival, except that the entire city is the venue and millions of people are celebrating!

It's simply incredible what logistics are behind this. The entire city was closed off to cars, and that in a city of millions!!! Starting in the late afternoon, there were air shows, live acts, light shows, music playing everywhere, and people dancing in the streets. At 9 p.m., there was already a fireworks display for children that lasted over 5 minutes and was already so impressive that we had goosebumps.

Thank God we had already booked a private event in April. So we were able to enjoy Sydney all day and still had a fantastic view of the Harbour Bridge and Opera House. It was absolutely incredible. The fireworks display lasted a full 15 minutes.

I can't even put into words how incredibly amazing the event and the fireworks themselves were. So if you ever feel the urge to visit Australia and Sydney, do it for New Year's Eve.
