Waiting for the Defender has not been good. But you can take a leisurely look at the surroundings. And even though city tours are not at the top of the agenda, you do dare to venture into civilization. And since we can't extend the rental car, we have to pick up a new one at Dulles anyway.

Therefore, we visit the capital and drop by Donald T.'s place. Unfortunately, he wasn't home and for foreigners, the procedure for visiting the White House is associated with some effort and time (User-Bureaucracy, Bureaucracy-Congress, Congress-Visitor Service.....). Whatever...the interior design is not really our thing anyway. I'll probably tweet him.

Otherwise, the weather was finally pleasant and sunny after days of rain, and even warm in some places. For one day, that's the main program....a little bit of downtown and the highlights of the National Mall. Disadvantage of the USA...with a dog, you can't go and certainly not everywhere. This means that some sights like Arlington Cemetery, etc. are out of the question.

Afterwards, pick up the new car at Dulles. The fully-equipped Nissan SUV is replaced by a poorly equipped Kia Sportage. Too bad....the 80km journey home that follows could have been a bit more pleasant in 3.5 hours. Traffic is hell in this metropolitan area.
