Anuradhapura

The guide and driver Kanishka picks me up from the hotel in Negombo and we drive to Anuradhapura. Duration is about 4 hours. After checking in at the Bella Vista Hotel, we visit the Sacred City, a collection of stupas and other sacred Buddhist sites. Some of them are more than 1000 - 1500 years old and are still visited by believers. In Sri Lanka, the majority of the population are Buddhists, followed by Hindus, Christians, and Muslims.

The area is so extensive that we sometimes drive there by car.
