Oaxaca de Juárez

Oaxaca (pronounced wah-chah-kah) is a region south of Mexico City with its capital Oaxaca de Juárez.

After the somewhat exhausting journey, I arrived in Oaxaca at half past 6 in the morning and was able to sleep a little longer on a couch in the hostel. At 11, I joined a Spanish Free Walking Tour, after which I strolled to an observation platform and took part in a tour of the ethnobotanical garden. The connection between the local plants and the indigenous population of Oaxaca was explained. In the evening, I immediately tried the national dish of Oaxaca: Tlayuda

At the hostel, I treated myself again: 4-bed female dormitory with private bathroom 😄
