'Fraser Island stretches over 123 kilometres in length and 22 kilometres at its widest point. With an area of 184,000 hectares, it is the largest sand island in the world. Fraser Island's World Heritage listing ranks it with Australia's Uluru, Kakadu, and the Great Barrier Reef. '

Welcome to Fraser Island.

La Mamma Elisa and I started our Tour in May, which is officially Winter, but the weather was absolutely beautiful, only the nights can get really cold, and we got a really cold one with 1 degree.

This island is absolutely beautiful, and the vibe over there just sucks you in within seconds. Kilometer-long beach, a really long sandy highway. Driving in the sand is scary at first but absolutely fun as soon as you get the hang of it, which took me a couple of days.

these fellas were obviously trusting my driving skills

Of course, we've visited Lake McKenzie as one of the first stops. Crystal clear blue water which is said to have wellness effects for your skin & obviously looks damn good on photos.

Next stop, champagne pools. Rock pools filled with bubbly water which is coming in from the ocean.

After a 45 min walk uphill, we arrived at Lake Wabby.
It's a small freshwater, green colored lake. It is located in the Great Sandy National Park on the eastern side of Fraser Island off the coast of Queensland, Australia. The lake is directly adjacent to the Hammerstone Sandblow, which is slowly moving into the lake. Eventually, it will disappear under the sand.

To end the day a little Beach Volleyball Session, improvised of course.

On the second day, we drove all the way up to the shipwreck.
The Maheno - is the most famous of Fraser Island's wrecks and has become a landmark attraction. Built-in 1905, the SS Maheno was one of the first turbine-driven steamers. She plied a regular route between Sydney and Auckland until she was commissioned as a hospital ship in Europe during World War One. She also served in the Mediterranean and the Red Sea. In 1935, she and her sister ship Oonah were sold to Japan for scrap.

We slept in tents in our camp, cooked our Dinner together and listened to Brendo playing the guitar by the bonfire. It was an absolute great experience with people from all over the world.

Thank you, Brendo, for the memories.
