Singapore, the city of superlatives.

Between my last stop on my trip, New Zealand, and my next one, Indonesia, I am currently staying in Singapore for four days. A city of extremes. And a city where I had to change my clothes more often than Madonna during her concerts. I flew from 4° Celsius and humidity similar to dry British humor to land in Singapore with 31° Celsius and 100% humidity. Fortunately, the subway ride to my hostel was not too far, so I didn't sweat out all my fluids on the way. Speaking of the subway, it's well known that chewing gum is not allowed in Singapore, but less known is the fact that drinking (yes, even water) in the subway is punishable with a fine of 500 SGD, around 300 Eur. During my time in Singapore, there was also a Hindu festival, equivalent to our Christmas, so I was able to witness these celebrations in Little India. In addition to this festival, I also visited other must-sees in Singapore, such as Chinatown, Gardens by the Bay with its Cloud Garden, the Helix Bridge, and the Merlion, Singapore's landmark, at Marina Bay. My special highlight was definitely the meals I had in the food hawkers, centers for street food. Among other things, I ate chicken rice, awarded by the Michelin Guide, for about 2.50 Eur, as well as an incredibly tasty Cantonese noodle soup. Although with the latter, I learned that when the cook asks twice if you really want the dish with chili, it's better to politely decline. My next stop is the airport in Bali with a subsequent journey to Gili Air. The fast boat is already booked...

P.S.: I will upload photos later. It's not possible due to the terrible internet connection.

Im Raffles ganz oben war für die Herren lange Hose vorgeschrieben, der Aus- und Rundblick war aber einzigartig. Erinnerungen werden bei deinem Bericht lebendig. Danke!!!
