Belize - Caye Caulker

From Utila, we headed back towards Mexico, as we had stored some of our stuff there. We chose the route through Belize. After bus and boat rides, we first arrived in Punta Gorda, from where we continued the next day. Belize consists mainly of jungle and the Caribbean coast, our only destination was Caye Caulker, a tiny island. Here, time ticks a little slower. It's a manageable place where a few Americans spend their retirement. This is mainly due to the fact that it is the only English-speaking country in Central America. Most travelers come here to dive the "Blue Hole," which was actually our plan as well. However, the weather didn't allow us to do so. So, we waited for 4 days for an opportunity and meanwhile enjoyed island life. Without accomplishing anything, we continued on to Playa del Carmen.
