Traffic on the left and no penguins

The last two days we mainly spent the mornings in bed. :D After having pancakes for breakfast as usual, we checked out the car sales offers in Melbourne. Our plan was to travel from Melbourne along the east coast to the north. However, due to the cool climate here, currently 15 - 25 degrees, we are considering flying to Cairns for warmth and then traveling south from there. Nevertheless, we already had 2 appointments to look at cars today. It was clear that Kenny would enjoy it, but Krissi also found pleasure in it. After testing the left-hand traffic on foot and by bike in the past few days, which sometimes worked better and sometimes worse, today it was time to get in the car for the test drives. After a few minutes, we got used to the left-hand traffic quite well - but in the large T4 it was a bit difficult to estimate the distance to the left side of the road and thus also to the parked cars - but everything went well.

We haven't bought a car yet, although Kenny has fallen in love with a Toyota Kluger. During this test drive, the car dealer was probably also relieved at the end that he and his car were parked safely back on the yard. He said Kenny probably took some drain grids from the roadside. :D So everything is still open.

When we were out in the city today, the thermometer reached a whopping 26 degrees - so Krissi wanted ice cream. After a while, we finally found an ice cream stand, where we treated ourselves to 2 scoops each for an incredible 16 AU$.. we'll just leave it at that :p

Yesterday we had probably the funniest bank conversation of our lives. The advisor came out of her office dancing and laughing from the beginning, until she finally noticed us. Instead of talking about the new account and its management the whole time, topics such as New Zealand, dental bridges - including the accompanying drooling - and finally how to best avoid bank fees were on the agenda. At the same time, of course, the important details were clarified - just by a constantly giggling and talking like a waterfall bank employee. We also registered our Australian Tax File Number directly during the conversation - so we achieved two things at once.

After this appointment, we were richer in laugh lines and followed the advice to go to St. Kilda Beach because there are supposedly wild penguins to be seen there. Unfortunately, the penguins seemed to feel the same way as us - it was simply too cold with about 16 degrees and they didn't show up.
