An ongoing meowing can be heard.. After a while, I realize it could be coming from the bathroom. It seems extremely absurd to me that a cat could have gotten into the room I was just in and closed the door behind me, but I still open it and immediately a large gray-white cat walks into the bedroom as if it were natural, jumps on one of the beds and curls up comfortably.
Later I found out that it must have come through a passage or a small hole in a dark corner of the bathroommust.
In Kotor there are countless cats. They live on the street, in empty houses and nooks and are fed by everyone.
There are people who take care of sick cats and make sure they don't freeze in this coldest winter of the last 35 years.
Some street tigers let you pet them, are very trusting and follow you, others are shy and retreat when they see you.
You can climb the mountain right next to the city on a long, serpentine-like path. Passing a small, old chapel, you are led to castle and city ruins that you can explore.
Once again an opportunity to realize how much our endurance and fitness has declined.. :P
Two Mexicans (a girl and a boy) move into our room, with whom we get along very well.
In the evening after the mountain climb we wander through the streets with them, looking for an open restaurant.. In the end, we walked miles to find out that the only open snack bar is a pizza place near the hostel..
The pizza is of course served with ketchup.
While eating, we find out that the boy is a dolphin trainer.
In the evening we have an interesting conversation with a local who works at the hostel. We talk about income, Germany, his hometown (where only 20 people live), the war and his career path. He used to be a professional basketball player, but earned hardly anything and now plans to open his own hostel.
