Heaven is crying big tears - but we have to go

But there is still a bit of time until then. Now we enjoy the American breakfast in the hotel and, contrary to the sometimes negative criticism, we are positively surprised. We've experienced worse. Checkout time is at 12:00 p.m., and Schahaatz tells the hotel clerk another hour for a late checkout. Still time for shopping and the citadel. Maybe we can find something as a souvenir that isn't too difficult. Unfortunately, the malls are all located at the harbor and, as you remember, it is at the foot of the mountain.

On December 6, 1917, one of the greatest disasters in Canadian history occurred when a French cargo ship carrying ammunition collided with the Belgian ship. The explosion was the largest man-made explosion before the development of nuclear weapons.

The shopping wasn't successful, it was just damp - from the outside due to the rain that was starting to fall and from the inside due to the non-existent breathable membrane of my rain jacket, which acts similar to a roasting tube. Another quick trip to the museum and we head out to check out. We still have a bit of time to fill, so we'll continue playing Frisbee golf, at least once here in Nova Scotia. We leave downtown and have to cross the A.Murray MacKay Bridge to Dartmouth.

A toll bridge that only takes cash. Very unusual and very stupid, because Shahaatz gave the last of our cash to the maid. But the young man says no problem, he writes down the name and wants ID. Shahaatz gives him his ID card and after he writes down whatever, we can continue driving.

Short distances without major obstacles. The biggest obstacle at the moment is the rain that is falling from the sky in torrents.

visit two more malls and drive to the airport around 5:00 p.m. It's pouring rain - Nova Scotia is sad that we're leaving.

So far everything is going according to plan. We were used to the comfortable and hassle-free check-in at the machine from United and Air Canada. And actually we had booked Lufthansa. We get Discover Airlines (formerly Eurowings and Edelweiss) with check-in at the counter, despite successful online check-in. You can sole the staff's shoes while walking. It took them a solid 10 minutes for 2 suitcases. I've never experienced anything like that.

We take off from Halifax 30 minutes late.
