Wow!

One thing is for sure: the weather apps are just as unreliable in Sweden as they are at home, which is not at all. Rain was predicted all day today, and what happened? Glorious sunshine! When we got up early (today we slept in until half past 10), there was a little drizzle on the roof and the sky was gray, but rain? Doesn't look so bad, we can proceed with our tour as planned. So we had a nice breakfast again and completed our morning hygiene routine. You should know that there are only 2 outhouses in the wooden cabin, one of which is wheelchair accessible. And as you can imagine, in the morning all campers use the outhouse, so it's best to lift the lid without looking into the sanitary facility. But hey, better to have a toilet than no toilet at all. There is a water canister next to the sink for washing hands, which pumps water up through a hose using a foot pedal. But hygiene is still questionable when you look at the hose. Anyway, you can also wash your hands in the camper van. The sky continued to clear up and so we packed our things (very important: mosquito repellent and Fenistil) and started the hike. The walking route from Google Maps wanted to take us on the highway. But we thought, "There must be a proper hiking trail somewhere." And we quickly found it, just follow the orange markings. Which we did. Through the forest, steep uphill, across a stream, and always on the lookout for the orange marks. It went over roots and stones on paths where sometimes only 2 feet could fit side by side. Somehow the saying "through thick and thin, but don't break your bones" kept going through my head...

But the beauty of nature made all complaining disappear. Sometimes we walked past moss-covered meadows and tree trunks covered with lichens, waiting for a dwarf or troll to jump out. The sun continued to gain strength and the strenuous walk made us feel weightless. When we arrived at Naturum, everyone had a sip of water to rehydrate. Naturum is the platform in the Fulufjället National Park from which a 4km circular trail starts. We passed a bog area with 2 ponds, then continued to a small river into which the waterfall flows, and then climbed several stairs to the highlight of the day. The Njupeskär is the tallest waterfall in Sweden, with a height of 125m. Wow! It can hardly get more impressive than this! Our photographer couldn't take enough photos, he climbed over huge rocks to get up close and capture the perfect shot. For anyone who wants to travel to Sweden, we can highly recommend it. The circular trail then took us almost to the treetop level through the nature reserve, then downhill, until we reached Naturum again after 3 hours. First, a refueling, fries for everyone! Since the way back through the forest seemed a bit too strenuous, we walked back to our parking spot along the highway - dutifully on the left side, single file. All in all, we walked about 15km, so today the motorhome has a day off.

Unfortunately, there is no shower here, but the river was enough to quickly refresh ourselves. The sun also had no intention of giving up, so we quickly filled my two brown bowls (I knew that was a good purchase!) with crystal clear river water and opened our own makeshift laundry. A whole load has already accumulated on Day 5, the laundry rack is definitely full.

Now we will enjoy the evening before we fall into bed exhausted from hiking. Rain is forecasted for the night... we shall see.

Ich bin beeindruckt. Da sagte mal jemand, wandern ist kein Urlaub. Macht weiter so.

Wer soll denn das gesagt haben o.O ? Der Muskelkater zeigt aber, dass es nötig war, die Gräten mal wieder zu beanspruchen
