Tuesday 09/12/23

Since I went on to Copenhagen on Tuesday, my morning was the same as on the other days of the trip. The train journey was very relaxed until shortly before the destination. In Hässleholm we were on the track for about 2 hours because of an accident, and most of the time we didn't know when we would continue. Luckily, thanks to my Interrail pass, it wasn't a problem to find a new train in Malmö to Copenhagen. And after about 9 hours of travel, I finally sat in bed in the hostel at 7 p.m. It should be noted that I was only supposed to be on the road for a maximum of 6 hours... Out of sheer exhaustion, I fell into bed and slept.

Wednesday 09/13/23

Hannah comes at 11am!! Before that I showered, had breakfast and went shopping. It was nice to see each other again, we only saw each other a week and a half ago, but we still missed each other. First we got a coffee and then spontaneously decided to go to Ikea because it was only half an hour's walk away. We ate Köttbullar again at Ikea and then went shopping. This time I actually bought something: a wonderfully practical hair towel, a lavender pillow (sorry mom, I'll take one from home with me on the next trip...), and an extra plug for all my cables. There was a corner in the Ikea where you could play a variety of games on the floor projected by a projector. Hannah and I played two rounds of memory before we realized that we had to hurry up a bit because our free walking tour started in an hour. So we hurried and of course ate two hot dogs each. We walked for another half an hour on the free walking tour, our tour was labeled as the politically incorrect tour. So stand-up comedy mixed with city history. It wasn't exactly my sense of humor but the tour itself was very interesting. At the end we also noticed the change of the Royal Guards, which was very impressive. After the tour we went to a church, but we had to quickly escape because Hannah is allergic to stone...
Because we didn't have enough time in Ny Haven during the tour, we went there again and ate the noodles I had with us at the harbor. And because that wasn't enough walking, we then walked along the longest shopping street (basically on the way home). We grabbed something to eat again and then headed to the hostel. I gave Hannah a quick tour there, we played a short game of Quixx and then she had to leave. We thought it would be the last goodbye for a while, but then I still had Hannah's hair towel in my bag and quickly brought it to her at the train station. After this actual final farewell, I basically went straight to sleep.

Thursday 09/14/23

I was sick. And I didn't sleep well because I had to cough so much during the night (I suspect that was partly due to the dust mites in the hostel :/). That's why I decided to just rest for a whole day and recover. So I watched a movie, read and listened to my audio book. I stopped by the corner shop at lunchtime because I wanted some snacks. In the evening I cooked something and then went to sleep.

Friday 09/15/23

On Friday I was already much fitter, after breakfast I made my way to the botanical garden. On the way there I saw the Round Tower, apparently also a tourist attraction in Copenhagen. So I spontaneously climbed up this tower. From the top you had a really beautiful view over Copenhagen and since it was a clear day you could even see all the way over to Malmö. On my way down I suddenly heard music and when I looked out of a window I saw a Royal Guards marching band. So I quickly ran all the way down, but unfortunately they had already moved on. Later in the park I sat down and rested a bit because I had been walking a lot again. There were some big fish in a small river in the park and I sat on the step in front of it and just watched the fish for 10 minutes. Then I actually went to the botanical garden again. But this one was really beautiful, in the last greenhouse there was a butterfly house, that was a real highlight. One of the butterflies even sat on me!!! On the way back to the hostel I looked at a lot of shops, ate the rest of my pasta on a bench in the shade and then quickly picked up a train ticket to the airport for the next day at the train station. In the evening I cooked my leftovers and spent a long time on the phone <3.
