Day 176-177 Adelaide

After leaving Broken Hill, we were actually booked in to travel to Mildura to explore the Murry River & surrounding for a couple of days. Given all the rain and floods in the area, our booking was cancelled out of nowhere just a few days before, while our booking later on in Mannum was not cancelled. Well, Stuart thought in the end we made a great deal: I found an available accommodation for the days in Adelaide at the Brighton Beach. So after a strenuous drive from Broken Hill back to South Australia with having to throw away all the apples we originally bought in South Australia (who understands Australian Quarantine?) and pretty bad streets, we arrived at the beach. Stuart really loved the accommodation.

So for the late afternoon it was time for a walk along the beach. The beach starts at the accommodation and just goes on and on, with a jetty and some cafes around after an hour or so walking. On this Sunday there was a big South Australia Youth Finales for life savers ongoing, so the beach was pretty busy. Stuart was very happy to have a seat at the window bench and watch the waves & beach.

For the next morning we had to get up early as our car had to go for another service to Toyota. After dropping off our car, getting some groceries at a shopping centre and making our way back to the accommodation with public transport, it was time for a relaxing day at the beach. Stuart enjoyed the walk, but got very hungry from all the fresh air, so we stopped for some Halloumi Burger at the litte cafe directly at the beach next to our accommodation. With the news from the Toyota service that our car has to stay over night for repair, there was even more beach time that time. So Stuart was happy, that it was finally time for gelato at the beach. Well, although the day was pretty sunny, with the temperature drop to just about 20C, the sunny beach with quite a breeze on did not feel as warm as the photos might suggest.

In the evening, Stuart wanted to see the sunset at beach as the other day it was too cloudy at sunset time. Well, there were clouds coming up just before sunset, no sunset over the water photo that evening.
