Wastewater treatment plant in the room // Meeting 22

The trip to Copenhagen was just shit. The first train was delayed, so I missed my connecting train and then the journey took longer, even though it was already long... In the end, it took 16 hours and then I finally arrived in Copenhagen. On the way there, you could already tell that you are now in an expensive country. My water bottle, which I bought at the train station kiosk, cost me 5€...

When I arrived at the hostel, I just went straight to bed, as it was 2am.

The next day, I naturally stayed in bed a bit longer and didn't leave for sightseeing until around 11:30am.

Copenhagen is not too big, but really beautiful. On the first day, I just wandered around aimlessly and then I went to a museum about Guinness World Records. That was really cool. A nice change from all the historical museums. I also liked a street near the water in Copenhagen, because it had many beautiful colorful houses and there was also a cool church.

In the evenings, I didn't do anything in Copenhagen because I didn't feel like it and it was insanely expensive.

In Copenhagen, a lot of people ride bicycles, as it is probably the fastest way to get around in the city.

On the second day, I took a day trip to Roskilde. There was a cool museum about the Vikings and their ships. I took a free English tour and really enjoyed it. Other than that, there was nothing special in Roskilde, but it was still worth it.

Unfortunately, the weather in Copenhagen didn't hold up well. It rained a little bit every day. Not continuously, but every now and then. And it's noticeably cooler now.

On the day I continued my journey, I visited Christiania. It is an autonomous community in Copenhagen that exists on a former military area. It felt like a drug and hippie district to me. The funny thing was that you could openly buy weed and other harmless drugs there, as they were legal because the community manages itself. Of course, theoretically you are not allowed to take them out, but honestly, probably nobody actually follows that rule.

Regarding food, I didn't treat myself in Copenhagen. I went to Burger King once and had a Döner kebab and I went to a noodle bar twice, where I had incredibly delicious noodles with Bolognese sauce... Otherwise, I had breakfast at the hostel for 10 euros, which was okay but comparatively expensive. I also had some snacks on the go.

The hostel I stayed in was huge again. I especially liked the showers, they were very clean. The room was small but good. Unfortunately, I had a roommate whose towel smelled extremely bad. It hadn't been washed in ages and I wondered how he could dry himself with it in good conscience. That was the most disgusting smell I have ever encountered in my life...

And there's one more thing I want to mention.

In so many hostels, the door to enter or leave your room is not quiet at all. No matter what you do, it's always super loud and I wonder why no one thought of having a less noisy access in a shared room that doesn't wake everyone up...

Well, next stop is Stockholm in Sweden. The prices go down a bit, but the alcohol prices are even higher.
