From Page to the Grand Canyon South Rim

There are gas stations with TVs here.

And breakfast at McDonald's.

Our route from Page to the Grand Canyon takes us to Horseshoe Bend after a few minutes.

The Colorado River makes a spectacular curve here.

It's really hot again. Therefore, there are signs everywhere.

Our drive takes us through an Indian reservation again.

Unfortunately, no Indians to see. 😕 Only occasionally drunken Indians behind the wheel. 🙈

A thunderstorm cell appears in front of us. 🙈

But the road leads us past it.

Arrival at the Grand Canyon South Rim. Always impressive.

The first viewpoint is the Desert View.

There are more viewpoints to follow.

One more beautiful than the other.

Arrival at Bright Angel Lodge. The room is ok.

Ok means, fan and small refrigerator.

Unfortunately, it's much more touristy here than at any of the places before. A lot of Chinese people taking photos so close to the edge of the canyon that you can hardly look.

These animals are also fed by tourists.

We keep forgetting that we're at over 2000 m above sea level.

The sun is really intense here and everything is twice as exhausting.

So off to bed, because tomorrow we will hike on the Rim Trail 🏃
