Assuan and Nasser Lake, Philae Temple

வெளியிடப்பட்டது: 31.01.2022

Wake up at 6 a.m. again, as we have to leave at 7 a.m. to visit the Aswan Dam with a tour of the dam.

We will be taking a bus through Aswan via the old dam. Photo stop on the dam.

Then we will proceed to the Philae Temple, which can only be reached by boat.

The temple was completely dismantled and rebuilt where it stands today. This was necessary because its original location was submerged by the dam in Lake Nasser.

Next, we will visit a Nubian scent healer. Here, essences for perfume and medicinal purposes are produced. It is also another sales event, but with tea and fragrance samples. Jürgen even gets a massage.

The excursion concludes with a felucca ride on the Nile back to our ship.

We are accompanied by an armed police officer all day, why didn't the tour guide come along. In the afternoon, we finally go to the souk by ourselves to buy some spices.

I left my phone on the ship, so there are no photos of it.

Good thing we checked the prices beforehand.

They wanted to sell us 100 grams of curry for 2,200 Egyptian pounds, which is about €135 …..hahaha…. In the end, we paid 50 Egyptian pounds. They're all crooks.
