Greetings dear readers. We have been here in Australia for a month now. September went by quite quickly. We have integrated ourselves pretty well here in Melbourne and have become valuable members of society. The weather is also getting better, and it's really noticeable how the sun makes a difference here. So far, we haven't experienced much of the Australian feeling, but that's because we only go to work every day and only see the city center.
Speaking of work. The shifts at the Halloween store are getting shorter and fewer, so we really need to find new sources of income. We are currently working on call for an agency that provides dishwasher or event setup helpers and such. Unfortunately, it's not a guaranteed income. I had an interview yesterday with a company where you go door-to-door in an old-school way and try to convince people to schedule an appointment. It's about installing solar panels on their houses. Tomorrow is my first day of training for that, so let's see if it's something for me.
We also looked at our first car today. We want to start getting around slowly too. Dullies helped us with a contact from Anneliese. And Tim (the contact) was really helpful too. He pointed out the defects to us and made it clear that we should maybe look for other offers. We will do that too.
Currently, we plan to stay in Melbourne for about another month and then start traveling or find a farm job and go there first.
Well, that's what it looks like for us at the moment.
