The end is near

Hello everyone,

We are currently sitting on Koh Phangan and enjoying delicious burgers at 1:56 PM.

After our first fascinating days in Singapore, we decided to visit a museum for the first time in 7 weeks of traveling. So we went to the Art-Science Museum where we were shown some environmental issues in a playful and technically impressive way.

The next day, we spent a few hours apart for the first time (here we already practiced the upcoming farewell): David visited the National Museum of Singapore (Mara and Konrad are sure it was just for show: 'You don't have to do this, David.'), Mara spent her time in a trendy district, and Konrad explored the music stores of Singapore (Experiment: How long can you play ringtones on the xylophone before getting kicked out?). After our lunch together, we visited the city from above and rode up the 56 floors to the observation deck of Marina Bay Sands (the three high-rise buildings next to each other with the ship on top) and saw the impressive sunset behind the skyline of Singapore.

Afterwards, we continued our journey north. Due to the unpredictable weather in Thailand, we decided to make an unplanned stop on the Malaysian island of Penang to relax from the exhausting city tour. After 2 relaxing nights, the weather in Thailand had calmed down a bit, so we headed to Ko Lanta. On the way, we noticed that we were back in Thailand, as the first of four minibus drivers was stopped three times in a short period of time by the police due to his driving style, but this didn't stop the journey thanks to bribery.

On Ko Lanta, we were finally able to cross 'snorkeling trip' off our to-do list.

With a longtail boat, we visited four different islands in one day and had the opportunity to observe many different fish up close. However, the highlight of the trip was a beautiful beach that could only be reached by swimming through an 80-meter-long cave.

The day before yesterday, we drove to our last island in Thailand, Koh Phangan, during the day. Once again, we were lucky with the hostel, as we had a pool and were only one meter away from the sea for €8 per night.

Yesterday, we attended the legendary Full Moon Party on the island and celebrated with 30,000 other people on the beach.

In a few days, we will start our journey back to Bangkok and from there to cold Germany. Prepare the cookies ;)

Your silly three,

M&D&K
