Moin!
Our night ended at 5 o'clock in the morning, we packed up our last things and met two more German boys at the reception. They had to go to the airport at the same time as us, so we shared a taxi to make it cheaper.
We arrived at the airport at around 6:15 and went straight to check-in to drop off our big backpacks. Then we went to have breakfast and spent the last Fiji dollars.
At the security check, things didn't go quite as planned. I forgot my nail scissors in my hand luggage and Mareike had to take a drug test. 😅 But the bottom line is that I was allowed to keep my scissors because of their small size and Mareike didn't have anything unusual found.
The flight to Auckland was very relaxed, we were given breakfast at the beginning and then slept for the rest of the time.
When we arrived in Auckland, the problems continued. Due to souvenirs and shells in our luggage, we were sent from one counter to another and checked by sniffer dogs in between. In the end, we had to empty our hand luggage. Because of my antibiotics, I had to go to another counter after this check and explain why I was carrying this medicine with me.🤦🏼♀️ After a total of two hours of tension, we were finally allowed to pass through the exit and have lunch at McDonald's 🤩🍔.
When we arrived at the hostel, we checked in and got our room. We share a room with three other boys who definitely can't keep things tidy. 🙄
After that, we went to the supermarket and stocked up for the next few days. Due to tiredness, we didn't manage to explore the city. So we spent the afternoon and evening at the hostel. We also booked two trips for our short stay in New Zealand.
In the evening we had pasta with tomato sauce and vegetables and talked to a German boy before we fell completely tired into bed.
Greetings from Auckland, New Zealand! 🇳🇿
Yours Jojo! 💫
