... and the quiet times.
After the exciting days in the city, I am looking forward to nature again. My destination is called 'Gorgo de la Escalera', about 1 hour further south inland. When I arrive, it is pouring rain, so I make myself comfortable in my van for a while. Later, the sun comes out, I grab my bike and ride through puddles and past bright orange trees to the bathing area :) And what awaits me there! Turquoise water, so clear that you can see the many little fish swimming in it. I gather up the courage for a little swim...
I would have loved to spend the night to enjoy the sun here again the next day. But the temperatures make me move on. I have to take advantage of the drives to warm up properly, because I still haven't found a solution for heating when standing still.
I drive to a small village called Jesus Pobre, where I enjoy my dinner with a mountain view and in moonlight.
I start the next day with my morning routine, which now consists of gratitude meditation, a little yoga lying down and sitting, and making tea and coffee.
Except that today I skip making coffee and walk to the village for the toilet, where I find a café. On the way back, I discover the only supermarket in the village. The woman who works there also sells products from her own family business, from fruits and vegetables to wine and homemade jam and honey. With fresh apples and lemons, I make myself my breakfast porridge.
In the afternoon, I go for a hike and find myself on the uphill climb of Montgó. It's a pity that I started the hike in the afternoon because I wouldn't be able to reach the summit due to the late hour. Maybe it's better not to do it alone...
So, although I don't get a view of the Canary Islands, I do get a view of the sea and a beautiful sunset, and that's definitely worth the half ascent. :)
And an Algarrobo with so many carob pods! <3 I fill up my backpack :-D
In the evening, I drive on again so that I can warm up. My destination: the coast - Cala del Moraig :)
