Unfortunately, since we took off directly to the north (towards Rijeka), I regret that I wasn't able to take an aerial photo of Villa Mir.
Even so, there wasn't much to see during the flight; just behind Rijeka, we flew through the clouds, and apart from a few Alpine peaks, mostly just this cloud cover extending to the blue horizon was visible.
Anyone who books Ryanair knows that one cannot expect much for this cheap price. There is zero entertainment: no movies, no map to see where one is, not even a socket to listen to music via headphones 🎧 🎶, nothing. Even the usual overhead luggage nets in the front seat were eliminated.
However, the diligent stewards and stewardesses offer drinks, food, perfumes, and other gifts 🎁 from the on-board shop. Interestingly, one can even order via mobile phone without the internet (one must turn on flight mode). In that case, Bluetooth activates.
However, one does not always receive what they expected. For instance, I ordered the cocktail 'Fruit Snack'. Instead, I received the individual ingredients from the service crew (whom, by the way, I wondered if they had already finished school or might be earning some extra money as students 🤔... though this could also be due to my advanced age 🤪), so I got the components as a DIY kit...
Well, at least I could mix two cocktails and still had some juice left over 😎
However, given the sometimes rather severe turbulence, it was not so easy to keep all the bottles, cans, and cups on the slippery little table. Especially since a paper napkin to place underneath would have likely blown the low budget...
Furthermore, I also found it fascinating that - despite immense technological progress - it still seems impossible to use speaker systems on airplanes that enable passengers to understand what the captain and crew are saying...
