After breakfast, we walked directly from our house in Studor to Stara Fuzina (where we lived in 2009) to the crystal-clear Lake Bohinj and hiked through a fairytale-like nature with the backdrop of the Julian Alps towards Ukanc (about 10 km), where we continued after a short rain shower to the Slap Savica waterfall (another 5 km with ascent). The waterfall is 78 m high and splits again - really impressive!
We didn't arrive back at the parking lot at the foot of the waterfall until around 6 p.m. and it started raining heavily again, so I contacted Anja, our dear hostess, to see if she could pick us up and she was actually nearby and took us with her. We couldn't possibly make Noemi walk another 15 km, besides it was already late and we were all hungry.
After a quick shower, we drove to Foksner - a cozy burger restaurant - in Ribzev Laz 🍔. It was delicious!
Our children really walked well and even enjoyed it (just like us parents).
That was a wonderful start to our hiking holiday in Slovenia!
