After almost 24 hours of extreme rain, thunderstorms and short power outages, this morning was a little break :)
When the clouds cleared a bit and some sun was visible, we walked a small hiking trail from the hotel to a look-out.
Well...in short and simple we imagined something different and then unfortunately a tiny look-out without an out look 😅🙈
But the path over the paddock and through the rainforest was very beautiful. Lots of plants and lots of sounds from birds and other animals.
On the way back Carmen said “what does it say?!” - there’s something there!”
I just .. “a wild boar”
There we stood...slightly panicked and a bit perplexed.
The wild boar looked at us and was practically ready to run. After a dramatic pause, our gentle retreat, it decided to leave the path. Unfortunately we couldn't take a picture, but we picked one up for you from the internet.
Everything according to the motto: as always, it wasn't a good idea 😅
When we arrived safely back at the hotel, we told the owner what we had seen and she just laughed and said: “As long as it wasn't the puma or the jaguar that have their hunting grounds here, everything is fine”. 🫣🙈
Crazy pictures and videos that she showed us from her cameras. Well we're not at home, we're in the middle of the rainforest :)
We also had nice encounters with animals, for example a small green or orange blue tree frog. He visited us last night for dinner.
The nature here is really impressive. How quickly the clouds develop here, form and disappear again - it's unbelievable.
Fog rolls over you and disappears again after a blink of an eye.
The greenery around you and all the noises during the day and at night - just crazy.
And at the end of the day the volcano showed itself in all its glory!
We're enjoying the whole thing here and trying to get used to the early darkness. Because as soon as darkness falls here, so will we 😂
With that in mind - good night 💤
