Alone through the jungle (MYS)

In Malaysia, I dared to hike alone through the jungle of the smallest national park in the country in Penang.

Admittedly, it is a marked hiking trail and on a Sunday, I wasn't alone on the way (on the way there).

The national park is easily accessible from Georgetown by bus, so I set off early in the morning. There are several hiking trails in the national park. I chose to hike to Turtle Beach, as it is said to be less touristy than Monkey Beach.

At the beginning of the trail, I was still quite alone, but soon small groups with mainly Asians crossed my path. I was already afraid that the beach wouldn't be as quiet and idyllic. But the concern was unfounded, people spread out well there. The sand is light and coarse-grained, unfortunately swimming in the sea was prohibited on that day (because of jellyfish - however, I didn't see any).

At Turtle Beach, there is a small turtle station where the little turtles that hatch on the beach are raised.

In addition to the little turtles, there is also a medium-sized and a large turtle.

On the way back through the jungle, I took a different path halfway, as on the way there. I quickly realized that this path is not frequented as often. In fact, I didn't meet a single soul on this path - so I was alone in the jungle :D

At the end of the path, there is an old recreational park in the jungle. Among other things, there is a treetop path and a concrete pool through which the river water flows. Too bad that the area apparently hasn't been maintained for a while. I would have liked to walk on the treetop path...

Oh, by the way, you don't have to hike to Monkey Beach to see monkeys. If you walk through the jungle attentively, you can also see monkeys there. However, taking pictures of them didn't work out so well.
