19.11 First martial arts experience and move

Imechapishwa: 11.01.2018

Quote of the day: 1-2, 1-2-3-4, 1-2-3-4-kick-chop-kick'

Just like the day before, we get up relatively late and don't stress ourselves too much. After a hearty breakfast, we head back to the pool to relax and rest.

Once downstairs, I discover that there is a Muay Thai training session taking place. Without hesitation, I ask if I can join. Before I know it, my hands are already taped and protected by boxing gloves.

The trainer, a former professional, takes it easy at first and teaches me simple punch combinations with the respective strikes and kicks. In Muay Thai, there is a lot allowed. Kicks, knees, and elbows are not only tolerated but even highly appreciated. Little by little, I'm getting better and deepening the sequences. Boxing is more exhausting than I thought. Especially the 5 minutes at a stretch are quite demanding.

After nearly 2 hours, the training is over, and I've already learned something new again.

Grandma and I stay by the pool for a while, and at 2:30 PM, Best picks me up with all my stuff to take me to her old apartment near Bearing Station. The apartment is small, but I immediately feel comfortable. After Best explains and shows me everything important about the apartment and the surroundings, we go back to Dirk's apartment and later leave for dinner.

The goal today is a temple that has excellent street food nearby.

Once we finish eating, I take the train to 'my' new apartment and enjoy a cold beer on the balcony.

Tomorrow is my first day of work at Bosch, and I am extremely curious about what awaits me.
