We love Bangkok and that's why we're spending a few more days here before leaving Asia! So from the island we go back to Trat by boat and then back to Bangkok by plane!
First, however, we have to go back to the hospital, as Katha's ankle needs to be x-rayed again - the result is good, the fracture is healing and surgery is not necessary!
We will spend the next few days by the pool,
walking through the city,
and eating delicious street food!
And then it becomes really difficult for the first time to get a PCR test for the onward journey. We didn't somehow expect that in Bangkok, where you can get everything on every corner. So we're driving around forever until we finally get an overpriced PCR test with QR code (no haaave) after another hospital marathon...
And then it's time to say goodbye again. It's hard for us and we already miss the beautiful country! Kop khun khrap Thailand, see you again!
Finally:
Thailand Katha's conclusion: 'That was really nice! A real vacation from traveling :) As I wrote in the last entry, I am overwhelmed by the friendliness of the Thais, the long-missed Thai food was awesome, the beaches paradisiacal beautiful and through our visit we had a very special time! This is how a new year can begin! However, it is a bit of a pity that you can't have conversations with the locals in Thailand like in the last countries. It is already very touristy here and people are probably used to backpackers exchanging information with each other, so the conversations focus on ordering food, taxi rides and accommodation - but nevertheless it was always heartfelt and I always felt very comfortable!'
Thailand Ronny's conclusion: 'Another sub-goal of our journey was to return to Southeast Asia and eat lots of Pad Thai, noodle soups and papaya salad with various Chang beers. Mission accomplished. This Thai food just beats everything. We had a wonderful time on the islands and could celebrate Christmas and New Year's Eve with our favorite travel buddies. Thank you Coco and Andrea, that was great again, to the heart... But it's good that we're moving on now, otherwise I would still be sitting there stuffing my face with sweets from the 7eleven market. Until next time!'
