Day 9 - Road Trip & Fort Island Gulf Beach

Today we started the day with a long car ride. We drove on interstate 10 to Tallahassee and then headed towards Crystal River. We arrived there at 2:30 pm and unfortunately found out that we just missed the manatees. They hibernate in Crystal River and will return to the sea by the end of March. However, we will still go to the Wildlife National Park tomorrow for hiking. Since we were looking for a motel until 3 pm, we could only start the relaxing part late. We went to Fort Island Gulf Beach and relaxed in the sun, on the beach, and by the sea. After enjoying the sun, we briefly went back to the hotel and then indulged in a true American chicken specialty. (Yep....we went to KFC) 😉
