We spent one night at a secure campsite here, as it's not advisable to park in a public parking lot if you don't want to get robbed. We were in the city for about 2 hours, and there were a few nice corners or buildings, but overall there were many poor people, drunk people, and drug addicts. We didn't feel really safe with the children here, even though there are already many tourists during the day, but they also walk around with beer in their hands, so you get the impression that no one is really accountable. Music is playing from the bars, but not necessarily jazz, for which the city is so famous. We finally found a nice band in a square, and the Mississippi Steamboat was also nice to see. But that was enough for us, and the next day we moved on...
