Here we are again with lots of new impressions and a lot of pictures :)
After the beautiful Krabi, Koh Lanta has now stolen our hearts... ❤️ the idea was to spend about 3 nights here and then continue to Koh Lipe, in the end it became 2 weeks (if our visa did not expire, we would probably stay longer ;)) ... the island is packed with beautiful beaches, tropical jungle, nice shops, restaurants, markets and inspiring people.
When we arrived on Koh Lanta one day after our accident, our first to-do was to change our dressings... after researching numerous clinics and unsuccessfully visiting the local hospital (if cats are running through the emergency room, you should think twice before letting someone touch your wounds), fate led us to the sweet Nanta Lanta Clinic in Old Town after a burst tire in pouring rain... the doctor couple is charming and super professional in their work, here we felt well taken care of right away and decided to leave Koh Lanta only when our wounds are halfway healed.
Of course, we are somewhat limited in terms of our mobility and unfortunately cannot enjoy the clear turquoise water, but we still enjoy every day in this beautiful place on earth!
We have met many great people - for example, our warm-hearted host Tommy who takes care of us, Mr. Mann and his family who run an organic farm with bungalows, Fafa from France who operates a small concept store with clothing, café, ice cream and drinks during the high season, an inspiring couple from Peru and England who have been traveling around the world for 5 years, the sweet little family from Mainz Alda Pierre with their 2 charming children Frida and Philippe, and many more who have enriched our stay here... 😊 that's what makes Koh Lanta so lovable and unique!
Just around the corner from our homestay "Sweet Life" (a really nice accommodation in Old Town, thanks Anna and Giuli for the recommendation! :)) we discovered the best "restaurant" on the entire island for us! Here, an old lady cooks the best noodle soup and the most delicious papaya salad (Caution: spicy!) in a small street kitchen that you can get on Koh Lanta... (we haven't tried all the restaurants yet, but it can hardly get any better ;))
So we spend our days eating, chilling, zooming around the island, meeting people, enjoying the numerous beautiful beaches and their spectacular sunsets, or dancing with dogs. 😄
On one day we made coconut oil ourselves at the organic farm "easy life"... many steps and about 6 hours are needed to produce the fragrant oil from the coconut... a really interesting experience and a lot of fun!
On another day, we spent time with a few people in the national park and hiked for about 1 hour through a beautiful green jungle to a small waterfall... the nature is simply gigantic and along the way, there is a small cave to explore...
On another afternoon, we spent time supporting the "Trash Heroes Koh Lanta" and cleaning up the beaches from garbage...
Every day, we discover something new, we are already sad to have to leave Koh Lanta on the 27th but we are also looking forward to beautiful Malaysia 😊🙏🏼
Love you all! See you soon! ❤️
