1. Day / Mauritius

After landing and going through immigration, our rental car was waiting for us right outside the airport. We were warmly greeted by the staff of Mietwagen-Mauritius. It was my first time experiencing driving on the left side! After a few minutes of getting used to it, it was manageable. I am still very grateful to have gotten an automatic car :) The first thing we did was go to the nearest beach and spent a lot of time there. In the evening, after arriving at our first accommodation, we took a shower and went to a typical Creole restaurant recommended by our hosts. The food was delicious but very spicy! :D Tip: 'a little spicy' here means very spicy! And the fried calamari was amazing!
