From Valencia, we want to take it easy. Three days on the highway are enough. And Polly definitely needs to run properly again. Thanks to Park4night, we find a spot in Cullera and park beautifully on the beach promenade. The place seems to consist mostly of vacation rentals and is almost empty. We take a nice walk and have a beer on the stairs in the sun. It's at least 20 degrees!
In the night, I wake up. It's windy and stormy outside, and a loud noise - sounds like someone wants to open the door - keeps me from falling back asleep. Jürgen is sleeping peacefully. I let Polly out to pee - no one around. In the morning, it turns out the wind closed the roof hatch. So everything is fine.
The next day, we drive past Denia to Calpe. There's supposed to be a nice little campsite where we want to try our luck. Just driving through Calpe, we realize it won't work. The place is buzzing, there's a "Delicatessen Calpe" and a German bakery and a tile outlet. And lots of people, surely many winter visitors and tourists. Where they are, the spots are also full. And that's the case here too. No campsite. But it's too tight and "full" for us anyway - in Spain, they're not very generous with the pitch size. Especially not on the coast.
I search the app for a replacement and find something a few kilometers further. A parking lot next to a rocky beach. Some are already parked there, but in the evening, there are only four of us. We enjoy a midsummer day with 26 degrees in the sun and relax. Polly doesn't like the heat so much, but she does like the pigeons she wants to chase. I explain to her that they can fly....Lizzie didn't care back then either 😀
