Arrival in Atlanta and drive to Dublin, GA

Yaaaaaay, we made it! Not exactly as planned, but we landed safely.

We were supposed to arrive in Atlanta at 12:15 PM, but due to a delay in the flight from Amsterdam, it was 3:15 PM.

By the time we were able to leave Atlanta with the rental car, it was 6:00 PM. We had been awake for nearly 24 hours by then.

In order to cover as much distance towards Savannah as possible today, we had to drive directly to Dublin. The planned detour to Macon fell victim to the time delay. Yes, now we are in Dublin... not in Ireland, but in Georgia. :)

On the way, we were stopped by a patrol car with flashing lights. Feeling overwhelmed, we pulled over to the side. After our hearts sank a floor down, a very friendly police officer simply pointed out that the taillight was not turned on.

Arriving in Dublin, we spontaneously checked into the Quality Inn & Suites for one night. Since our stomachs were rumbling, we went to the nearby BBQ restaurant, which, however, did not impress us culinarily.

Back at the motel, we had a nice conversation with Joe from Seattle, so now it is already 11:30 PM and we have been awake for almost 29 hours.

Tomorrow we'll continue to Savannah.
