Airplane noise wakes us up at 07:00 in the morning. One tourist bomber after another leaves Cagliari heading north, bringing the beach vacationers back to where they came from with a lot of noise. Well then, get out of bed and perform the morning rituals. Our landlord gives us tips for visiting the old town and spotting flamingos, of which there are hundreds here. We also follow the tip to visit the Puetto beach. There we come across some Dutch people who are sunbathing on towels on the beach. Such a beach is not desirable for us, so we leave the location after a short time. We drive to the old town, which is perched on a hill above the sea. We are impressed as we walk through the narrow streets. The facades of the 4-5 story houses are sometimes freshly restored, sometimes well-preserved, and sometimes quite run down - but that's exactly what gives the charm to the so-called "Cita'veccia". Everywhere there is laundry hanging on long lines at the windows, curtains blowing, voices and music can be heard from the open windows - there is real life here. In contrast, the modern residential areas in the lower city with their high-rise buildings are bleak stillbirths. On the way back, the bumblebee has to decisively reject some pushy motor scooters and cars - which I am happy to support with some driving maneuvers. On the way back, we buy 2 fillets of sea bass, which sizzle in the pan shortly afterward.
