Here we go again: Another trip and this time a really big one: I'm going to Peru and once again I haven't planned much, but I'm letting almost everything come to me. For the preparation, I can say that I got vaccinated for various diseases, including rabies, hepatitis A, and cholera. Generally, I'm not a fan of vaccines, but of course, I don't want to get sick and since this is my first solo trip to South America, I decided to get all the recommended vaccines. Otherwise, I tried to pack relatively spartan. I have a suitcase (where I still have enough space) and a waterproof backpack. Roughly, my packing list includes: hiking shoes, regular shoes, flip-flops, 4 pairs of boxers, 5 pairs of socks, 2 long pants, 3 shorts, swim shorts, 2 towels, 2 sweat jackets, 2 long-sleeve shirts, 3 tank tops, 2 t-shirts, juggling balls, a book, a travel guide, a notebook, toiletries, medication (paracetamol, anti-diarrhea medication, anti-cramp medication, various ointments, mosquito spray), bags, a rain cape, a headlamp, a shoulder bag for money and passport, and probably a few things I forgot. In the end, I was amazed at how empty the big suitcase remained. I had considered traveling with a backpack, but then I thought that I would leave the suitcase in the respective accommodation anyway. I also exchanged a few dollars in advance. On site, I will use a mix of credit card and cash. I will definitely exchange some money into the local currency.
Of course, I made a copy of my passport. That's it for the preparation.
