After our 10-hour sleep and breakfast in the van, we continued to Hamilton Lake. A small lake with a nice path around it.
As a Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit fan, I couldn't miss the opportunity to visit the Hobbiton Movie Set, the filming location of the movies.
Beautifully designed with many small doors and windows. We were guided around by a tour guide. Afterwards, we had some ginger beer.
So if anyone ever comes to New Zealand, be sure to visit Hobbiton ;)
It's worth a visit!
Fun fact: In Hobbiton, there is a lake that was created for the filming. Soon, some frogs settled there. However, in a very short time, there were so many frogs that they started to croak so loudly that the actors couldn't be understood during some film shots!
That's why there were extra staff members on set whose job was to relocate the frogs to another location.
You can learn such funny facts during the tour of Hobbiton.
We are now in a small town further up north. We are staying at a campsite with a nice lady and a very cute dog.
Sometimes it's a bit creepy sitting in the van in the dark.
Yesterday was very creepy, but that's because we were watching a thriller.
Later, we'll watch another movie on our phone and then go to sleep.
Cheerio ☺️
