Hujujui, today we experienced a lot and also saw a lot of Florida. There were rockets, engines, missions, shuttles and rental cars.
This morning Arthur and I took a taxi to the rental car center to pick up our cars. That went pretty quickly, there were only two or three forms and explanations, but then came the surprise: I was upgraded from premium to luxury and that sounds great. But it was a sedan (Lexus with leather seats and very chic) and not an SUV, which we actually ordered, because we have four suitcases with us. When I asked if the trunk was big enough, the lady said "of course" and so I drove straight to the hotel.
It quickly became clear there that nothing would happen....
So go back together with Inka and negotiate with the lady. She was "not amused" but in the end we got another upgrade to a minivan (huge). But that's how it is in the USA, you always have to negotiate.
After that we finally made our way to the KennedySpaceCenter and that is abbreviated...KSC. Very sympathic ;)
Everything is unbelievably big there, which is actually clear because rockets are launched there and they cause quite a stir. Anyway, we're talking about an area so big that it stretches over 560 square kilometers. And that's just way too big to compare to anything.
We saw the launch platform from which a manned rocket flies into space tonight!!! Touched real moonstone and started a space shuttle mission. It's all BIGBIGBIG and amazing. Numbers are mentioned that you don't understand at all. It's big and intimidating, but it's also just amazing what we humans are capable of. We're really glad we were there, because you can only grasp something like that a little bit if you've seen it with your own eyes.
