Today I'm going to the workshop first. I leave at 08:00, which is the peak traffic time, but unlike Wellington, the traffic in Auckland is not too bad. The workshop looks quite rustic, I'm greeted nicely, describe my suspicion, and get an appointment for the next day at 08:00. Let's see...
I continue into Auckland city, I don't want to drive much anymore, so I hike up to Mount Eden first, another extinct volcano, to get an overview like yesterday. The city with the iconic Sky Tower has some tall buildings, but the surrounding area is characterized by small houses with lots of trees.
I stroll through the city, past the library and art museum, into Albert Park and down to the harbor. It's lunchtime, the city is bustling with life, there are small food shops everywhere, lots of Asians, hamburgers, and even kebabs... it smells like food everywhere.
Of course, there is also Christmas decoration here...
The harbor is impressive, with fancy ships in front of a great skyline, I could hang out here for hours, but unfortunately my parking meter is slowly running out.
Tomorrow morning I finally have the workshop appointment, then I'll see. I have planned a program close to the city for 2 more days, but without a car, this won't work either...
