Once again, we are caught by a hail shower at night... it's really loud on the metal roof of the car ๐ซฃ We sleep in late and then enjoy our breakfast with wild raspberries (found right on the ranch) and scrambled eggs + cheese toast
We continue east into Yoho National Park: first to Wapta Falls: after a 2.4km hike, we reach them on foot, very wide and spraying like a shower, rainbows everywhere ๐
On the way back, we encounter 2 partridges. Melly has fun off-roading again๐
We stop at the Natural Bridge, a stone bridge shaped only by water. Unfortunately, too many tourists...
Further up is Emerald Lake, a picturesque beautiful mountain lake๐. Unfortunately even more tourists ๐ We encounter a funny chipmunk๐ฟ, find a quiet spot for lunch and watch a heron in flight.๐ชฝ
Our highlight today: The Takakkaw Falls (70m), Wow! Really impressive how deep the water falls!!! We get showered again ๐ฟ
We skip the Laughing Falls (2x 5km hike) afterwards as it starts to rain and we are already 'showered' ๐
And it gets even better: we spot a bear at the roadside! ๐ป๐ It is undisturbed by us and searches under stones for food.
Since it is already early evening and the weather is rather northern German, we drive straight to Canmore. There we have a nice little accommodation, the host is Andres (an ultra-marathon runner). We appreciate a warm shower after 2 nights in the wooden wagon๐
No big activities today. Eating leftovers and buying a small dessert. We are still amazed by the huge food portions that can be bought everywhere... everything is designed for at least 6-10 people ๐
Unfortunately, the weather for tomorrow is forecasted to be terrible. Therefore, we have canceled our canoe trip on the Bow River at short notice. Let's see what we will do instead tomorrow. Staying flexible ๐
