Seeeeeeevus buddies-
Welcome back to our lives ππ½ππ½π
Short introduction to Langkawi.
As always - a Muslim island. That's why us girls are only wearing long pants here, so as not to provoke unnecessarily π€π (but the Chinese ladies here don't give a damn about that π‘).
There are two "larger" cities here. First, Kuah - where our resort is located - not so touristy and more local. Then there's Cenang - excessively touristy because of the beach and hardly any locals.
Yeah, now let's talk about what we've done so far..
As you can see later in the first pictures, we didn't have such great weather for two days π
Since we're pretty close to the Thai border and there was a typhoon there again, we got a bit of rain and wind in the border area.
But not a big deal - we rented scooters for three days and explored the island a bit..
Driving on the left side of the road........ but finally good roads for the first time ππ½ππ½
Β
Thursday evening we went out in Kuah.
We checked out Eagle Square and the city. That's it - evening as usual with beer by the pool π Langkawi is known for its many birds - probably why there's the statue π€¦π½ββοΈπ
We left Friday morning and went to the durian perangin Waterfall π§. Which is some crazy shit - without a tour and bad weather, you're almost alone there π
It was a bit small, but finally easy to walk on βπ½
Β Afterwards, we went to the black sand beach π. Probably really nice with good weather π€¦π½ββοΈπ
We then crossed the island (about 20 km) to Oriental village. From there, the cable car starts, but we skipped it because of the weather and the resulting lack of view over the clouds.
Well - we imagined something oriental under oriental village,.. and not a small European park imitation. After the shock, we had a coffee and then the sun came out briefly π
When we went to the next beach in Cenang, the sun left us again. Despite the cold 35 degrees, we had to keep going...π±
The beach was really nice, but way too crowded.. it's completely overcrowded here and totally different from here in Kuah.. a whole street with cafes, restaurants, and souvenir shops. Wasn't really our thingπ€·π½ββοΈ
We had lunch there and then went to another beach. Luckily, it was quieter there, but due to the weather, it wasn't very inviting.
Then we went back to the hotel and spent the evening by the pool.
This morning we were woken up by the sunshine πππππ
Back to life π
We spent the day in the sun, as it should be βΊοΈ
Then we just went to the night market. It starts at 5 pm and we were there - 5:30 pm in the blazing sun π€¦π½ββοΈ A bit too hot - that's why we stocked up on food and drinks and are now chilling by the pool for the rest of the evening π
Tomorrow morning we will continue with the ferry to Penang - Julis' last stop π«
See you later, alligator π
