We have been here for almost 2 months now. And we can't keep up with telling everyone everything. It's a shame that we can't share everything, every little detail, but it's also just indescribable. It's like a different world.
By now we're in incredible Melbourne. Yep, quite a bit further than last time 😂.
Last time we were still in Byron Bay. Then we took the bus to Yamba for surfing and skateboarding. After all, you have to try everything once, but it's really damn exhausting. But it was also super funny with our surf teacher Shane!
Yamba is a really tiny town between Byron Bay and Sydney, but it was definitely worth it for us. Within a day we pretty much saw everything there was to see, but because of the size of the city, we almost felt at home, like in Cottbus, but after 3 days we continued to Sydney.
And that was by far the biggest change in the last few weeks. First we came from the small town of Cottbus to the vast Australia with its incredible landscape and different culture, but this was a whole different experience. Sydney with its huge, shiny buildings and so many people. We walked around barefoot everywhere for the past few weeks and half the day in swimwear, but here everyone was dressed nicely and rushed to the next appointment.
Sydney has a lot to offer and in the two weeks we were there, we saw so many different facets of this city and so many places that you wouldn't notice as a tourist. In any case, this city blew us away with all its aspects.
I think one of our favorites is definitely the Royal Botanic Garden and the Art Gallery next to it! You could really get lost in there all day!
In the over 14 days we were there, we changed our hostel quite often and eventually we tried Couchsurfing for the first time and met Teejay. He showed us incredibly cool private places in Sydney and the surrounding area and definitely made our stay there easier! We spent a day at the beach in the Royal National Park with a German guy and Teejay. It was incredibly beautiful.
In the last few days in Sydney, we spontaneously went to the Blue Mountains for 2 days and saw a lot and did a lot of hiking, but unfortunately we couldn't keep it up for long 😂 The nature was impressive.
But overall on this trip, you meet incredible people from so many cultures and so far we've been really lucky. We have witnessed so many nice and interesting people. And more and more are joining every day.
After Sydney, we went to Melbourne. 12 hours by bus. When we arrived there, we didn't know what to expect. We'll report on that in the next post! We now have a job and everything is going really well. We have met so many great people here and are really happy at the company where we currently work. It's like a big family.
See ya soon x
