Hello and welcome,
basically I was against another of the million travel blogs in a time of Instagram and co...but since I have so many wonderful friends who have asked multiple times - here it is: ta-daa!
But if there's a travel blog, there has to be a trip, and if you haven't already heard about it in the last 6 months of endless mentions and stories: I'm flying away!
I was inspired by a friend (Hello Silke!) and her travel fever.
I never really did an exchange/high school/au pair year and was always studying/working/training, and once I entered the working world as a young person, it was difficult to find the time - especially since the general duties of an adult come too quickly. After all, the rent doesn't pay itself.
But back to Silke and her cool travel fever! Then I thought, how can I get more time off work than the usual 27 days a year? So I inquired with my employer (Thanks Zalando!) about the possibility of a sabbatical, wrote the application, and lo and behold, in January I suddenly had the confirmation in hand and was completely perplexed. Then I took out a loan (yes, I really did, and it's not that bad), booked flights, and got informed. What came out of it?
2 weeks in Bali
4 weeks on the East Coast of Australia
1 1/2 weeks in Israel
Since then, the travel countdown has dominated my life (and that of my friends and family - sorry for that!), counting down from months to weeks and days... and now it's almost here. In 19 days, I'm getting on the plane and will be traveling through the world for almost 2 months with a backpack (which is of course almost bigger than me). And yes, completely alone. Why? Quite simply: because I feel like it!
