The last day in Kyoto. After our rice-rich breakfast, we went to the To-ji Temple. On the way, we already took care of the seat reservations for tomorrow on the Shinkansen and found a kind of bakery at Kyoto Station. Although everything was just white bread, but bread!!! It was then topped with cheese, ham, bechamel sauce, and so on and tasted really really good. The To-ji Temple is definitely worth seeing. In the Kondo (main hall), there was a very impressive Medicine Buddha statue and the pagoda is also impressive. We accidentally stumbled upon a small art exhibition in one of the temple buildings, where we bought a kind of calendar. It shows what to be grateful for each day of the month. We didn't realize that the artist was sitting at a table. I was just about to pay him 😳. Then he signed the calendar for us. Nice. After that, we went to the Geisha district. We could see some ladies dressed in Geisha style, but there was no real Geisha among them. Otherwise, many many tourists in Hanamikoji Dori. The evening walk along the Kamo river was very nice. And then we saw 2 real Geishas - they passed us in a taxi.
