Arriving in Jakarta, we immediately ran a small marathon through the entire airport with our luggage and of course missed the connecting flight, or so we thought. Fortunately, the flight was postponed - indefinitely - and we finally arrived in Yogyakarta after a long time. Conclusion: 30 hours of travel. Yogyakarta, called Yogya by the locals, is considered the cultural center of the Indonesian island of Java and the perfect starting point for tours for us. After a day of acclimatization and exploring Yogya, the next day we went to the temple complexes Borobodur and Prampanan - wake-up call at 3.00 in the morning. Borobodur as the largest Buddhist temple in the world and Prampanan as the second largest Hindu temple after Angkor Wat speak for themselves.
