Trip to Central Bali

Early this morning, we called our familiar taxi driver. Like all Balinese people, he was very punctual.

We went to the temple by the sea. Uluwatu Temple.

This temple complex is located at an altitude of 200 meters to keep the evil away from the island.

These Hindu temples are occupied by monkeys.

The monkeys have a sacred status! Even if they steal cell phones ⚠️!

After that, we went to the Ayun Temple. This temple complex is one of the oldest on the island.

Here, too, there is a typical dress code.

The different number of roofs represents the levels of holiness. The Shiva Temple has 11 roofs in Bali.

Afterwards, the driver recommended a great restaurant between rice fields.

As always, Indonesian cuisine is not only tasty, but also beautifully presented.

..after 5 minutes, we had to leave because of the smells. It almost made us sick...
